Product Lifecycle & Care
Why did the pan change colors after intital usage?
It is common for the pre-seasoned grapeseed oil to come off after initial usage, revealing a more metallic color. Don’t be alarmed! The pan is still 100% functional and non-toxic; it simply takes continued use/care to build a thick enough layer of seasoning to create a lasting non-stick coating!
How do I season my pan?
Check out our recommended stove top method of seasoning
on the Seasoning & Care page.
Can I use soap when cleaning?
Soap is safe to use; however it may weaken your seasoning so we recommend re-seasoning after soap washing.
Will Cast-A-Way Carbon products rust?
Yes, just like Cast Iron, if stored wet or in an environment with moisture our products will rust. However, you can scrape off and re-season back to its prime.
Are Cast-A-Way Carbon products dishwasher safe?
